Godzilla Movie Review
People do go to the extreme, but I'm not going to lie and say I love the film, when in actuality I was disappointed with it. I'm all about good characters, and storytelling, but this movie didn't have that. The characters we're very cliched, and dull, and the plot, while serviceable, wasn't anything that engaging, or meaningful. When you have cast like this film had, do something interesting with them for crying out loud. This was a pretty talented cast of actors that were wasted, because the script didn't give their characters any real depth, or allow their characters to do much. The result was performances as lifeless as it probably was on the written page.
The overall direction was good, along with nearly all the CGI effects, but I wish as much time had been devoted to finding a decent screenwriter, to deliver a worthwhile script for the cast, and crew. Others will see it differently, and I understand that, as the film had it's moments, but I'm just as sick of people acting like it's this brilliant film, along with those who bash it to the extreme. Point is, lets not act like the film is flawless, because that couldn't be further from the truth.
